OSUN STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION - THE CONFIRMATION OF A BITTER TRUTH.

It is high time Nigerians accepted the fact that our politians are always after the fulfilment of  their own selfish interests irrespective of the political parties they are.
VOTERS  CASTING THEIR VOTES

This is evident from the recent concluded governorship election in Osun state Nigeria.

On the 22nd of September Osun state winessed an election that was full of dramas and the unbelievables and from which we must not fail to recognise the take-home messages - Nigerian votes never count and thereby never decide who occupies any political office in the country.
VOTERS AT A POLLING UNIT
CAN NIGERIANS RECOVER HER LOST VALUES?
For clarity sake I will like to list the the candidates that were vying for the governship position in that state who were Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola who contested on the platform All Progressive Congress (APC) , Alhaji Moshood Adeoti (Action Democratict Party), Senator Ademola Adeleke ( People Democratic Party), Senator Iyiola Omisore (Social Democratic Party), Olapade Okunola (The Accord Party ), Prof. Ife Adewumi (The Providence Peoples’ Congress) and many more. But the election in reality was actually between the ruling party APC and PDP.

It came as a shock to every lover of democracy when the election was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) which ordered a re-run of the election to hold on the 27th of September in seven poling units due to cancellation of their votes over hijacking of materials by thugs in those areas.
Ademola Adeleke
But where the PDP candidate, Adeleke, should have been declared the winner of the election for leading APC  with 353 votes - He had 254,698 while APC had 254,345 votes.

The pretext that was later given by the INEC was that the number of cancelled votes in those polling unites was 3498 and which  was more than the number of votes Senator Ademola Adeleke led with. But if APC had led PDP with that number of votes, I believe the election wouldn't have been declared inconclusive.

The declaring of the election inconclusive is not the major concern here but the agreement of Iyiola Omisore of Social Democratic Party (SDP) to support the ruling party, APC, in the rerun election after he has previously condemned the party  during his campaigns for the election. This is one of his statements and I quote, " the present government is not sincere. Our people are impoverished, but the state government is giving jobs to plumbers, masons and other artisans from Lagos".

This Omisore's act sends an unequivocal message to the general public that our politicians are not a group of men of principles.
IYIOLA OMISORE
They are a group of selfish people who do not have the best interests of masses at heart. They only support any political group that protects their selfish interests. And yet ignorantly many Nigerians still rally around and support them on this mission.

On the 27 of September when the rerun election was held, with the support of Omisore after his terms and conditions were accepted by the APC and the preventions of voters to cast their votes for PDP by APC tugs, APC finally had the highest votes and was declared the winner of the election.

This clearly shows us an insight into what 2019 presidential election will look like. It obvious that our votes do not count and our voices can not be heard, we need to sit down and devise another means to snatch our country from these political pests before they finish devouring the fibre of this nation and  leave nothing for our posterity.
